Why I joined SORT: I am very interested in infectious disease outbreaks and wanted to gain practical experience through SORT to supplement classroom learning. I also wanted to get involved on campus and be part of a community of like-minded individuals.

Why I joined SORT: I joined SORT because I am passionate about disease outbreak prevention and investigation. SORT presents its members with invaluable opportunities to network with, train with, and learn from current public health experts and leaders in the fields of emergency and outbreak response.
Fun fact about me: I love a cappella music and have been singing most of my life.

Why I joined SORT: I am interested in working in outbreak response and it seemed like a fun way to meet other students who are passionate about the same things as me.

Why I joined SORT: I’ve had some experience in outbreak response at the state health department and wanted to gain some hands-on experience in emergency response and outbreaks.

Why I joined SORT: SORT is one of only a few organizations at Rollins that places a specific focus on public health emergencies. I joined SORT because of my background in domestic emergency response and preparedness, and my desire for applied practical experience in outbreak response.
Fun fact about me: Until age 18, I had never eaten a banana.

Why I joined SORT: I joined SORT to assist Emory Students in leveraging their networks for professional development and to build on my own experiences in public health, defense, development and diplomacy.
Fun fact about me: I run a scholarship program for university students to take leadership positions in community service.

Why I joined SORT: I joined SORT because of my interest in outbreak investigation and response. I actually decided to pursue a career in public health because of my fascination with the recent Ebola outbreak and I knew SORT would provide me with hands-on skills and experience in this area.
Fun fact about me: I trained a golden retriever who is now working as a guide dog for a blind individual in Brazil.
